Single-origin, stone-ground, and free from fillers. Every spice traceable to the farm it came from.

Why Organic Spices Are a Necessity, Not a Luxury
Spices are used in small quantities but daily — across every meal. This makes them one of the highest-risk food categories for pesticide accumulation. Studies by FSSAI India have repeatedly found that conventional spices contain pesticide residues above permissible limits. Chromate, Sudan dye, and synthetic colours are commonly used to enhance the visual appeal of low-quality spice powders in the Indian market. Certified organic spices are the single most impactful daily food upgrade you can make — and the easiest to sustain long-term.
Our Single-Origin Organic Spice Range
Dhatu sources spices directly from certified organic farms across India's traditional spice belts. Our Organic Whole Cumin comes from Rajasthan's rain-fed farms, processed within weeks of harvest for maximum volatile oil content. Organic Whole Coriander is sourced from Madhya Pradesh — the same soil that has grown coriander for centuries. Organic Ceylon Cinnamon Powder — true cinnamon, not the commonly adulterated cassia bark — is sourced from certified farms in Sri Lanka and Kerala. Organic Red Chilli Powder is Guntur variety, stone-ground with seeds intact for full pungency without artificial heat enhancers. Organic Whole Cloves from Kerala's Wayanad district are high in eugenol, traceable to specific farm clusters.
How Dhatu Processes Its Spices
All whole spices are cleaned using air separation — not chemical washing — to remove foreign material while preserving the outer volatile-oil-rich surface layer. Powdering is done on granite stone grinders at low speed to avoid heat generation, because heat destroys the volatile oils that give spices their flavour and therapeutic value. No anti-caking agents, no flow agents, no mineral oil coatings are applied. You receive the spice in its most natural and potent state.
NPOP Certification and Traceability
Every spice in our collection carries NPOP certification — meaning the entire supply chain, from seed selection and soil management to harvest, processing, and packaging, is audited annually by an accredited certification body. Farm-level traceability reports are available on request for institutional and B2B buyers through our wholesale portal.
How to Cook with Single-Origin Organic Spices
Organic spices grown in traditional soil types and processed without heat or chemicals are measurably more potent than supermarket equivalents. Start with 20–30% less than your recipe specifies and adjust to taste. Whole spices retain potency for 2–3 years; powders are best used within 12 months of opening. Store in airtight, opaque containers away from heat and humidity for best results.
