Dhatu Organics Organic Dried Green Peas are whole dry green peas (sukhi hari matar, pachai pattani in Tamil, batani in Kannada): field peas harvested when mature and sun-dried. Soak and cook them for ghugni, ragda, matar usal, sambar, soups and chaat. Packed with no bleaching, colour or preservatives.

Dried green peas vs fresh peas

Fresh green peas are picked young and sweet from the pod. Dried green peas are left to mature and then dried, which makes them firmer, starchier and easy to store for months. They need soaking and longer cooking, and they hold their shape well in curries.
