Never heated. Never filtered. Never diluted. Dhatu Raw Honey is harvested directly from the hive and bottled cold — with all its natural enzymes, antioxidants, and pollen intact.
What Makes This Honey "Raw"?
Most commercial honey is pasteurised at high temperatures and ultra-filtered — a process that makes it look clear and uniform but destroys the beneficial enzymes, kills the antioxidants, and removes the pollen. Raw honey skips all of that. It goes from hive to jar with minimal processing — strained through a coarse mesh to remove wax and debris, then bottled. The result is thicker, naturally cloudy, and nutritionally alive.
Key Benefits
- Natural enzymes intact — diastase and invertase support digestion
- Antioxidant-rich — flavonoids and phenolic acids that fight free radicals
- Antimicrobial properties — hydrogen peroxide content makes it naturally antibacterial
- Rich in pollen — natural pollen supports immunity and may ease seasonal allergies
- Zero additives — no sugar syrup, no preservatives, no antibiotics
- Prebiotic effect — feeds beneficial gut bacteria
How to Use
- Stir into warm (not hot) water or herbal tea — never boil honey
- Drizzle over yoghurt, fruit, porridge, and pancakes
- Use as a natural sweetener in salad dressings and marinades
- Take a teaspoon directly for a sore throat or cough
- Apply topically on minor cuts or skin — its antimicrobial properties are well studied
Frequently Asked Questions
Why has my honey crystallised?
Crystallisation is the natural state of raw honey — it is a sign of purity, not spoilage. Processed honey is heated specifically to prevent this. To liquefy, place the jar in warm water (under 40°C) — never microwave. Crystallised honey is safe and equally nutritious.
Is this honey tested for adulteration?
Yes. Dhatu Raw Honey is batch-tested to confirm it is free from added sugar syrups (including rice syrup, corn syrup, and C4 sugars) and does not contain antibiotic residues.
Can I give raw honey to children?
Honey of any kind should not be given to children under 12 months due to the risk of botulism. For children over 1 year, raw honey is safe and nourishing.
How is it different from Forest Honey?
Raw Honey is typically collected from managed hives near a variety of flowering crops and gardens. Forest Honey comes from wild hives in dense forest areas — it has a stronger, earthier flavour and higher antioxidant content due to diverse wild flora.
What is the shelf life?
Properly stored honey has an indefinite shelf life. Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate — it accelerates crystallisation.
