Organic Sunflower Oil 500ml — Cold Pressed, Raw & Unfiltered

Dhatu Organics Organic Sunflower Oil is cold pressed from certified organic sunflower seeds — raw, unfiltered, and free of any refining. Unlike mass-market refined sunflower oils, our cold pressed version retains its natural golden colour, mild flavour, and extraordinarily high Vitamin E content (41mg per 100ml — nearly 3× daily recommended intake). With a smoke point of around 107°C, it is best suited for low-heat cooking, salad dressings, and skin care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can cold pressed sunflower oil be used for deep frying?

No. Cold pressed, unrefined sunflower oil has a smoke point of approximately 107°C. It is not suitable for high-heat frying. It is best used raw or for gentle low-heat cooking. For deep frying, use an oil with a higher smoke point such as refined groundnut oil or cow ghee.

Why is this oil cloudy or has sediment?

Cloudiness and natural sediment are signs of a genuine unfiltered cold pressed oil. These are natural plant compounds (phospholipids, waxes) that are removed during refining. They are completely safe — simply shake gently before use. Refrigeration increases cloudiness but does not affect quality.

Is sunflower oil good for skin?

Yes. Cold pressed sunflower oil is one of the best oils for skin care. Its high Vitamin E content (41mg per 100ml) and linoleic acid make it an excellent lightweight moisturiser that does not clog pores. It is suitable for all skin types including sensitive and acne-prone skin.

Is this oil the same as refined sunflower oil sold in supermarkets?

Not at all. Supermarket sunflower oil is extracted with hexane (a petroleum solvent), then refined, bleached, and deodorised — a process that destroys most Vitamin E and natural compounds. Our cold pressed version is extracted purely by mechanical pressing with no chemicals or heat, preserving all nutrients.

What is the shelf life?

9–12 months from pressing. Store in a cool, dark place away from heat and light. Refrigerate after opening for extended freshness.
